List of problems with the display * Inconsistent EDID/Mode reporting to source devices ; results in unstable refresh rate reporting and modes which are lower than advertised 8K in many cases * 8K - 7680 x 4320 - only was able to be driven at 30hz refresh * 4K @ 120hz worked but only when forced to Game Mode * VRR was never reported as working by the Display, likely as they have not implemented VRR in non HDMI2.1 modes - this is required to have to display work with Open Source display drivers due to the HDMI2.1 spec being closed and patent protected - making the monitor unusable with Linux/MacOS * Text and Font display artefacts causing odd Blueish/greyish hinting to occur when i.e reading Fixed width fonts (i.e a Text-file etc); unsure if this is a by product of the BGR LED layout used in the panel or the AI Upscaling - either way it makes reading text pretty much useless * Multi-input mode pretty much does not work when using Game-mode ; which as mentioned was required to have relatively consistent modeline reporting work (yes extended input range setting was tried) * I could not complete on-line update as it required a Terms of Service acceptance to be agreed too that despite DNS and Internet checks the TV would not acquire resulting in a 'Service is off-line for maintenance try again later - message). Overall avoid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Following a few difficulties with shipping the tv arrived on a Monday morning. My plan was to install the tv on the wall using the Samsung slim fit wall mount, but as this was still in transit I took the plunge and fitted the stand temporarily so I could get to see this electronic wonder up and running. The unpacking needed 2 as stated and was fairly simple if you follow the instructions. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the stand itself as it seemed to be just a heavy piece of metal, bolted together. It also acts a support for the one connect box to sit on, but again I felt the design was a bit lacking as the box just rests on the stand and there didn't appear to be anyway to secure it in place. For a high end tv I feel Samsung could have gone a bit further and refined the stand a bit more. Once assembled it was time to connect my PS5, Samsung Q950A soundbar. Easy enough to do using the one connect box with no fiddling behind the tv to get everything connected. Powering up was fast and I was greeted with a simple set up option using my mobile phone. The tv recognised all my connected devices and when I powered on I was very impressed with the quality of picture and audio. The PS5 video quality was incredible and took my gaming to another level as I could see objects far more clearly and more colourful than before. Live tv via satellite (cable directly into the one connect box for freesat) was also incredibly clear and colours far more vivid than I ever imagined. The audio quality is good without the soundbar, but incredible with it. Following arrival of the Samsung slim fit wall mount, I got to work with a friend to install this beauty on the wall. A bit of a job as the instructions weren't that great but we managed and I have to say that the result was amazing. A small gap behind the tv makes this tv what it should be, a work of art. It sits on the wall incredibly and even with the one connect box cable down the wall it doesn't detract from the beauty of the TV in its rightful place. There's very little reflection from the windows and the picture quality seems even better. I do feel that the menu screens are often a bit slow and unresponsive, particularly when using the voice command options. I was also hoping that the Google assistant would display feed from the Google nest cameras and doorbell I have installed but alas it did not..unless I'm still to find out how. Early summary..picture fantastic, but I feel for the price it should be just a little bit better.
