    Overview

Incorporating intelligent design and state-of-the-art sound technologies, the Samsung 3.1.2 Ch Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is engineered to augment your audio experience in every way.

Developed, tested and tuned at Samsung's California Audio R&D Lab, audio engineers apply advanced acoustic technologies and cutting-edge computer modelling to create balanced, room-filling sound. Surround yourself in cinematic sound with true Dolby Atmos and DTS:S audio, made possible by front and up-firing speakers.

This soundbar is compatible with Amazon Alexa to help you control your sound using the SmartThings App so you can manage your entertainment using only your voice.
    Dolby Atmos technology

Dolby Atmos technology with DTS:X creates an immersive sound field around you. Conventional soundbars shoot audio directly at you and that creates a two-dimensional sound experience. With Dolby Atmos, the upwards firing speakers send sounds to the roof, which then bounce down on top of you and immerse you in audio from above.

    Built-in centre speaker

The built-in centre speaker lets you experience clear dialogue so you don’t miss a thing. And with beautifully balanced sound, your TV shows, movies, and games will sound natural and crystal-clear.

    Adaptive Sound

Analysing the sound output according to what you're watching Adaptive Sound will optimise the audio output so you get crystal-clear sound that isn't muddied or dull.

    Acoustic Beam

Mixing and outputting sound so it appears to emerge from where the action is on screen, Acoustic Beam technology consists of up-firing drivers, directing sound through an Acoustic Beam. The beams themselves contain holes of different sizes to project different sound frequencies across a wider area, for heightened audio.

    Expected better
Purchased the q70t sound bar after my old t450 stopped working. Really disappointed with the q70t against the older, cheaper t450. Dolby atmos effect non existent, even though it reads Dolby atmos on the digital display on the front of the soundbar. If you think that you are buying a soundbar that gives you a surround sound experience you will be very disappointed.

    Sounds great. Annoying "intended functions"
TL:DR - Great Sound bar and it sounds stunning, however there are some functions that are annoying, and apparently they are intended. First off, it is a stunning Soundbar. The bass isn't too strong. Setup is simple. The sound stage is fantastic. Looks good too (not that that matters too much.) I'm very happy with my purchase. Paired with my Q80T TV, its just great. I'm looking to add the wireless rear speakers too to really make this work. Surround works as expected, however the Atmos is stunning. (Note, don't use a YouTube "Atmos" video to test it, as YouTube doesn't support Atmos.) Afew annoying "features" however: The Q-symphony (or TV+AV sound mode) does not work with the pass through HDMI. Because of the above, if you change from using the HDMI pass through source to another source or app, you have to switch the TV+AV sound mode back on every time. If the TV is set to the Soundbar source (i.e. HDMI pass through), then switched off, the next time the TV is turned on it doesn't turn the Soundbar on (it does with the other sources). I suspect this is a bug because of the HDMI pass through taking precedence over the eArc for some reason. The Sound mode will stay on Game Mode, even when Game mode is turned off (auto or manual). I prefer the Adaptive mode, so have to go into the settings and switch it back on. After talking with Samsung support with these, they are apparently intended function. Which considering Adaptive mode and Q-Symphony are the marketed functions, its strange I have to keep resetting the system back to use them. Its annoying, as in the TV settings you can set each source to be a particular Display setting, but cannot with sound. Even more annoying is that apps inherit the currently active source's Display and Sound setting too. In summary. I love this soundbar for its sound and style and surround support. The HDMI pass through is appreciated (if slightly limited), but some functions are annoying when changing between sources and/or apps.

    An excellent sound bar
After some initial problems setting up the sound bar, I am now very happy with my purchase. I suspect if I only owned Samsung products the installation would have been much easier, but like many I have a range of electronics equipment and this led to some difficulty in the set up. I am now very happy with my purchase, although I belive samsung should produce a more detailed set of instructions.
