Bought on the cheap so got cheap. Dvd tray won't open from the button on the unit but does via remote. During play it also glitches the movie at times. Not worth sending back

I've had utter disappointment with 2 blue ray players which apparently had over a 100 streaming apps but failed me when I tried to play my old DVD movies & VCD. Now what good is having all these streaming apps on a Blue Ray player when it fails to perform it's basic task - play and up-scale DVD's hassle free? I was looking for a Blue Ray player which didn't have WiFi or streaming media since I own a Philips TV already comes with built-in WiFi and streams movies flawlessly. In addition to that I also have Google Chromecast so it was pointless having another streaming BD player. The Philips BDP1200 was the best choice. It plays virtually all media files like Blue ray, CD, CDDA, DVD, SVCD and even my old VCD's flawlessly which sets Philips apart from any other brand out there! The player has been connected to HDMI ARC port via hi speed HDMI cable which support ARC(audio return channel) Blue ray disks play in stunning Full Hi def I have a huge collection of DVD's from the past 10 years, this player plays them all RELENTLESSLY regardless of how old or in what condition the disks are in. To top it off even the DVD's are up-scaled to HI-definition quality. I'm now one happy Videophile! Way to go Philips!!!
