I looked at quite a few Sound Bars over 3 years, before deciding to buy this one, so I DID do my research. Price is important, and I quickly realised that buying the cheapest was false economy and would certainly lead to disappointment in sound quality too. This mid-price sound bar would be ideal in 99% of 'average' homes I would imagine, as it has a really good amount of power. I personally didn't want any more that a 3.1 system because of the room and the positioning of having any more speakers for the 5.1 (or higher) system for example, although I was a little wary about the surround limitations the 3.1 system might have. I needn't have worried as I find the 'surround' part is absolutely fine, in fact excellent, especially on Blu-ray movies like Star Wars for example. The bass response is also amazing... I am a bass 'aficionado', so I do know a little about bass response in musicMy wife was very sceptical about Sound Bars in general, and was convinced we didn't need one at all, but this offering has certainly changed her mind and now she says she wishes we had got one earlier.. praise indeed. Finally, "Danjamin" gives excellent points about the settings (see his review) and I certainly couldn't add any more to his excellent points, so please do read his review.
