We purchased this microwave having had a great experience with an earlier model. This model however has been very dissappointing. Over a relatively short period of time we had to start slamming the door in order to be able to restart the next cooking cycle (and it wouldn't restart until you did). The bolt holes securing the door mechanism and switch were too large and allowed the mechanism it to move to a point where the switch couldn't re-set. You can't see into it when cooking as the lighting level is poor so you can't see when things are boiling over (and by the way this light has just fallen out completely and is now lighting the internals of the electrical control area instead of the cooking area). The child lock feature is very annoying as you need to push the off button twice as there is a timer which prevents you from restarting with a new cooking cycle for what seems to be a random period of time. We sent it back to the repairer during the warranty period regarding the seemingly random child lock feature and was told this couldn't be changed and was normal. Our original Panasonic Genius microwave (puchased around 1990) was great, however, this one is on the regret list.

I have had this microwave since April, and I’m very happy with it in every aspect. Worth every cent.

I bought this because i had a great experience with the previous panasonic microwave. But this one had a circuit board burnout within the warranty which was repaired but has died after just 3 years. Won't buy another panasonic
