Disappointed no WiFi
We purchased this unit to replace the out of date Telstra T-Box and very disappointed that it is not Wifi Didn't realise the internet option required cable - our old T-Box was a better option - thank goodness for smart TV's

Can I use DMR-XW440GLK to transfer my mini DV tapes from old camcorder directly onto DVD? ie can I plug the video camera into the back of the recorder (using composite cable), press play and burn direct to DVD? This would be my sole use for the item. Ta Dave33 · 2018-08-30

Yes, you are able to record from an external device such as a camcorder, but it will need to be recorded to the internal HDD of the recorder first and then transfer the recorded content to the DVD.
