Our Breville started shorting out our power (it was bizarre), so because Appliances Online no longer sold it, they replaced it with this one - we paid the price difference - and I am so so so disappointed (and this is from someone who has had tons of drip coffee machines over the years, including very cheap ones). It makes extremely weak coffee, no matter how much coffee you put in or what settings you use, and you end up wasting a lot of coffee. I looked up reviews for the machine on another website, and almost every review said the exact same thing, so I'm honestly surprised to see so many positive reviews on AO. I'm honestly shocked at the poor quality of the coffee, and I don't understand what they've done to make it work so poorly.

I read other poor reviews and thought ‘how bad could it really be?’ Turns out pretty bad. Weak, watery coffee despite following instructions, setting to ‘strong’ and generous serving of coffee grounds. Why???

Had this for about a year, but the valve in the filter golden has broken during cleaning and I cannot locate any replacements.
