We bought this TV so many years ago and I remember coming home at 9:30pm as a young child and standing in awe at the brightness and colours of this TV. Watching cartoons for hours on end was very enjoyable. Over the years however, this TV has become more and more dissapointing. The software runs at 24-30 Hertz which is just A FRACTION of what this TV is capable of. The trails left by the mouse cursor was such an eyesore I was in shock that it was capable of 200Hz. There is no HDR certification on this thing as there is a measly 12 edge-lit dimming zones that causes very obvious blooming but in normal SDR content is not an issue. Another big dissapointment with the software is that the Youtube app only support 1080p, while the TV has 4x more physical pixels than that. I was shocked again to see this TV has a 4K resolution when YouTube videos will playback at 1/4 of that. There is also no 10-bit colour, meaning gradients will not smoothly transition from 1 colour to the next. The 8 megapixel sensor is definately a cheap, small sensor as it is incredibly grainy and LG could've saved a couple bucks and not put that in. Now, enough complaining, let's get to the good sides. When you have a gaming console hooked up, 200Hz is amazingly smooth. The IPS technology allows for big viewing angles and good colour accuracy. The software is easy to use whilst also allowing for massive depths of customization. LG ended support for this thing a couple years ago, and discontinued it what feels like a generation ago. Man, I will have some terrific childhood memories with this thing, but the Samsung I have now is simply better... until I find a flaw with it that makes me replace it again.
