I have waited until two months of ownership in order to write an honest review. Immediately during setup I noticed excessive light bleed/IPS glow in the right corners of the panel, the bottom right corner being the worst. This became more apparent after playing games with lower lighting. Disabling local dimming is essential for improved viewing otherwise the shift in brightness is incredibly off-putting during transitions between light and dark scenes. I had originally contacted support to see if my unit was defective, however, I was told this is simply how edge lit LEDs work. If you primarily watch sports this TV is fantastic. The image is crisp and the brightness and viewing angles are very good. I also find the inbuilt speakers to be good quality. Streaming content from your phone is very easy and the TV does automatically engage game mode and HDR when required which is convenient. As someone who purchased this TV because of its HDMI2.1 support for release of next gen consoles, I could not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a TV for gaming as the light bleed detracts from the immersion. Although all edge lit TVs are susceptible to this problem, this model is by far the worst offender. Without the light bleed problem I would rate 5 stars as there are no other downsides to this unit. It's a shame as this TV has great features for the price point, but if I could go back in time I would save for an OLED.

I recently purchased the LG NanoCell TV just before the COVID-19 pandemic, initially impressed by its performance. However, my experience took a downturn when friends and family noticed horizontal lines across the screen, which detracted from our viewing enjoyment. Despite the touted Nanocell technology, the display quality didn't meet expectations. This was my first LG product in Australia, and I am uncertain about their customer support. In contrast, I've had positive experiences with Sony, prompting me to file a complaint with LG. I hope LG promptly addresses this issue, as it affects the overall satisfaction with their product. Despite this setback, I believe in the potential of LG NanoCell technology and look forward to a resolution that restores confidence in the brand.
