I wanted them to work, but they don't. At least not for lap swimming. Yes, I put them into MP3 mode BEFORE entering the pool. Even with them in MP3 mode, they would switch to bluetooth or pause the song every time I turned my head to take a breath on the right side. The difference in pressure between the water and the air when breathing was enough for the device to think I was touching it and switch modes or pause the song. If you're a snorkel swimmer it might work perfect, since your ears stay at the same level the whole time. Sound was great underwater, loading music is easy, the contols are just to sensitive. If there is a different way to LOCK them besides entering into MP3 mode, the manual doesn't list it.

I bought this almost 2 months ago....and one thing that I have noticed is that it has very very low bass and a very high pitch...which kinda irritates ears... But is very good for movies coz movies sound very crisp... And for the water part....havent used it while swimming but during shower too the sound kindaa fades so have to remove them half way

I use these every day, in water. They are 100% waterproof, not water resistant, up to my usual depth of a meter or so. I am taking a star off simply because the controls are a little goofy at first, and if you forget them on the go you can be kinda hosed. Other than that, they function exactly as advertised. I use this product every day on the Willamette River, and other than having to memorize a few controls I have 0 complaints. And the controls aren't rocket science, one click, two click, three click, click and hold. That's pretty much it. To the bad reviews: Most of these are on one of two issues, 1) the device not playing underwater, or 2) the volume being drastically reduced after a short period under water. 1) Bluetooth does not work underwater. Plug the Dive into your PC, and download your music onto the onboard MP3. You can use them for about as long as advertised. 2) If ANY water gets into the speaker, it can muffle audio. If you are actually swimming with them, either wear a swim cap or tuck them under your goggle strap. You need POSITIVE PRESSURE to maintain a true seal, i.e. your strap pressing it into your head. (haven't tried them with flip turns) If you do get water in them, and audio is muffled, just blow it out. I've never needed more than one or two good puffs to get them back in working order.
