We’ve had our jbl charge 3s for going on 3 years. The day I decide to stay home from the gym as my wife continued to go, our jbl made a funny noise while charging, began to spark, and release a horrible smoke off in to our home. It caught flame and we had to throw it outside on to our yard. Our dogs would have been stuck inside in their crates.

I purchased 1 and then purchased a 2nd one because the quality of sound the 1st one produced when used in my massage therapy and paired up with my Flip 4's really filled the room nicely with more than just sound, but just about full range of music. After owning a pair of Flip 4's and using them in stereo mode, I knew I needed to get a 2nd Charge 3 so that I could use it in stereo mode as well. 1 is great, but 2 in stereo mode is amazing. I also started using the Charge 3 pair in the gymnasium during my bootcamp workouts. I actually had to turn down the volume cause my participants were having trouble hearing me over the music. I've also experimented with "connecting" my Charge 3's to my Flip 4's and really like the sound they produce. So far, connecting them has been easy and hassle free. I was experiencing a little static, but I believe it was due to the wifi connection at work, as sometimes it's weak and stream my music. I double checked my phone and speakers were fully charged, and also checked the wifi connection for strength, and problem appeared to go away as soon as I "recharged" all my devices. Overall, I'm very happy with Charge 3's and would recommend for anyone looking for little bigger sound. They work very well in a room as well as in a gymnasium!
