Their delivery guys are good - they let you know when they are on their way, allowing you to still go to work and just pop home when you need to (to receive the delivery). It't not their problem, but they see the chance to convert a customer into a fan. Or maybe they're skilled enough to recognize the signs of impending caffeine-delay hysteria. Either way, they're wise enough to tell me they'll find a solution. Robert calls back promptly to say it's not their policy, but they'll replace Myrtle tomorrow. I nearly ask him to run away with me. This is customer service about the relationship rather than the policy. It's the attitude I have in my own business and I'm surprised companies can survive today without it.
