I have hardwood floors, rugs and carpeted areas in my home, and was deciding between the Dyson Articulating Hard Floor Tool and this Flat Out Head. I chose the flat head because it seemed more versatile and could handle both my timber floors and my rugs as well. And it's done exactly that. The head maneuvers really well, around dining chair legs and because the head is so flat, it gets further under my fridge and dishwasher than anything else I've tried. It's smooth and slides under the edge of my rugs too without me having to bend down to lift the rug up. The Turbo Head that came with my Dyson cleaner obviously does a more thorough job on the carpets as the rotating bristles dig into the pile to lift more dirt out, but for a faster, lighter clean on carpet and long pile rugs that doesn't involve swapping heads as you move from floorboards to carpet, or clicking levers on a head tool, this flat head is great. It makes vacuuming that much faster and even enjoyable. And if the tool can make you want to vacuum a floor, then that's the one to get!
