It does not pick up it pushes the dirt around. I have to lift the head up for it to collect the dirt. Totally useless thinking of throwing it in the binReally PleasedJust brought the DC54 home and tried it for the first time and this vacuum cleaner really works!! I was really pleased when I didn't need to move any furniture either as the vacuum head was able to get right under just about everything. I vacuumed the whole house in less than half an hour - it used to take about an hour or more with my old HEPA vac. My son commented on the fact that it is a lot quieter than my old vac whilst I was vacuuming and I could actually hear him! I would definitely recommend this vac for anyone who hates vacuuming as it makes the job a whole lot easier!!Legendary service
