I have had my DC19Y for around 2.5 years now and it is still going as strong as the day I unpacked it from the box! I love how you can take almost the whole cleaner apart so there is access to almost every inch of it. This is fantastic in the case of trying to clear any blockages.... not that I have had this issue to date. The carpet / rug cleaning power of this machine is unbeatable when teamed with the optional turbine head!! I have even taken my cleaner to friends/families houses to test this out and every single time it has got a decent amount of dirt out of freshly vacuumed floors. I have purchased multiple different heads / attachments for this cleaner to be able to clean so many more things. This does mean changing the head all the time during cleans but that doesnt bother me too much when I know everything is getting cleaned effectively. The DC19 is a little heavy and a little bulky to store as the hose & wand doesnt wrap around in this model. The bin is also a little messy to empty and there always seems to be some leftover dirt etc that doesnt come out with lots of taps to the bin but all of these cons are minor trade offs for the cleaner doing such a fantastic job. I now recommend Dyson to everyone I know and I can't wait to see what Dyson come out with in the future! They are pricey but money well spent!!!
