We bought this almost a year ago now and definitely don't regret our purchase. We did a bit of research to find one that could cool our bedroom sufficiently and that wasn't the noisiest. Well I'll say first of all that this is a portable aircon so it is noisy, however the noise is preferable to the heat so it's an easy trade off for us (and wear ear plugs and it's not too bad!). We had to fashion out own extension for the window unit as it wasn't long enough for the window (why they don't include a longer kit I don't know) - but it was easy enough to do with cardboard and tape. We did have a problem initially with it leaking but soon got a replacement unit sorted easily with Appliances Online. Another thing I'll point out is it's not really that portable. It's heavy. It does have wheels but it's not easy to maneuver. That's fine for us as we only use it in the bedroom but might be something to consider if you were planning on moving between rooms often. It's really easy to use, comes with a remote which suits our bedroom setup. Overall definitely recommend. I think it's worth paying a little bit extra on these units.

I was aware these units have nothing on the split systems, but we hooked it up to our bedroom (which is ~30m2) and it cools it to a fridge on a 40+ degree celsius day after running for 1 hour. We even ran it in our living space, which is ~70m2 and it manages to lower 1-2 degrees after 1-2 hours (plus dehumidifies the air a bit too), so that's well over expectations. Really helped us get through the Sydney heatwaves. Not used it as a heater yet. Bit pricy and quite noisy, but worth the compromise for comfort if you can't install a split system.

After just over a month of use I'm very dissatisfied with the performance. It is supposed to cool up to 20 sq m but cannot handle my kitchen which is 12 sq m! The appliance was supplied with a 'water tray', but apart from noting that this was in the box no other mention was made of it in the instruction manual. An examination of the appliance did not show any evident position for this accessory, despite removing all panels that did not need a screwdriver.
