Have had this 4-slice toaster for a couple weeks. Unlike many toasters, the Breville feels solidly built. So far, so good. It toasts evenly whether toasting standard or large slices of bread. It's a toaster and we toast. Not too many functions; the 4 functions (“A Bit More,” “Lift and Look”, Bagel, and Frozen) are really all that's needed and are great. also great is the auto lower & raise. While on the expensive side, if the saying "You get what you pay for" applies, this should last a long time.

disappointing for the price...it does not toast evenly

This perfectly ticked all the boxes in what I was looking for: silver finish, narrow profile, able to handle bagels and wide artisan loaves, and a frozen setting. Lift and Look is a nice bonus as is A Bit More -- you can error on the side of caution because you can always add A Bit More.
