This is the 3rd of these panini grills that I have bought. To my surpprise, the surface on this one is different. Breville has replaced the old cast iron surface for a non-stick surface that doesn't do the same hiugh quality searing job. Ver disappointing

As someone that thoroughly enjoyed my first Breville Panini Grill, let me say that this one was a serious disappointment. I can appreciate the larger size, the addtion of an on/off switch, and the decreased weight; but that non-stick coating is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Regardless of your feelings about non-stick and the chemicals, the fact that the grill surface is so slippery, even after several uses and washes, that food just slides out is ridiculous. I have to face this thing sidways on my counter and place a tray or a plate at the end to catch food that just slowly slides right out. I have to use chopsticks, to keep it in place while I close the press, then slam it down, so it squishes the food in place, to HOPEFULLY, keep it from just sliding out. However designed that particular feature, should be removed from the design team. Thoroughly unimpressed. Will not purchase again.

This is my 3rd Breville Panini Press. It’s not my 3rd because there has been something wrong with them. It’s my 3rd because I’ve worn them out over the years. I literally use them for everything; steaks, fish, shrimp, sandwiches, You name it! I highly, highly, highly recommend them. I recommend them so much that I’ve given at least 5 of them as gifts.
