These are very poorly designed. They boil for well over a minute before turning off. Sage replaced my first one, which gradually got worse and the replacement is horrendous. Basically you have to manually turn it off every time or risk it boiling forever. For an expensive product this is particularly bad! We have the black one and the black paint also comes off very quickly. Utter rubbish, avoid.

I love the look of this kettle but in the picture above and the one on the box, it looks like the level of water in the kettle is very easy to see. In fact it is a light colour up to the level of water. In reality, I cannot see how much water is in the kettle. It is very dark and not easy to see at all. This is my only issue with the kettle but I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew this.

I purchased this kettle in sea salt through David Jones 4 months ago, since then the outside has developed rust spots. The water level is hard to read as it’s not backlit, the lid doesn’t close fully and the kettle is a little on the heavier side. If I could return it I would, which is a shame as I’ve exclusively used the Breville brand for 10 years.
