The lid mechanism on this kettle literally fell apart just out of its guarantee. Solid everywhere else and I hoped it'd last for years as I paid a premium for the design but sadly not. Worst thing is they have customer service yiu can feedback to. Buyer beware

These are very poorly designed. They boil for well over a minute before turning off. Sage replaced my first one, which gradually got worse and the replacement is horrendous. Basically you have to manually turn it off every time or risk it boiling forever. For an expensive product this is particularly bad! We have the black one and the black paint also comes off very quickly. Utter rubbish, avoid.

I chose this kettle because I was looking for a BPA free kettle. There were other cheaper BPA free kettles that came up on my search. However, I have also got a Sage Espresso machine and have been very impressed with the quality of the Sage products. This kettle does not disappoint. I read other reviews before purchasing stating that this kettle erupted boiling water when reaching boil; I’ve not found this to be the case, even when filled to maximum level. It sits very snuggly on the base. One feature that I really like is that the on/off switch can’t be accidentally turned on because it’s close within the body of the kettle rather than a protruding lever. I bought the brushed steel kettle and from an aesthetic point of view I think it looks lovely, especially as it’s the same finish as the espresso machine. The only slight negative that some may find with it, is that it is quite heavy.
