I’ve had this a couple of months now and wish I had bought it years ago, as it suits many of my cooking needs. It has more than enough heat for me. I usually use 6 or 7, which gives everything I cook a golden brown, and in the same time I can steam my veges, before I throw them in for a quick blanch. The proof is in the eating, whether vegetables, fish, seafood or meat. I even cook toasted sandwiches on 6, sometimes 7 when I do side 2. I was surprised that the American version has 3/4 the power. So setting 7 on mine would be 14 on it, where 15 is the highest setting. My only complaint is that the knob should be knurled as it's difficult to turn if your fingers are moist or greasy. I've also slow cooked a beef casserole on setting 2 for 2.5 hrs - perfect.

Dissapointed with my purchase. Found out after I bought it I paid $40 too much. I know I should have looked a bit harder. There are no temperature settings it is on high or off. You camnot sommer anything. On the lower settings It just limits the time it is on high. It is constantly switching on and off and it trips my bench top power point. Heating element is good as it come up the sides, that is the only good thing about it.

Great Wok, heats well and fairly quickly, nice size and easy to clean. The removable base is also good when cleaning as it makes it easier to wash in the sink. Great quality.
