    Overview

    The Breville Barista Touch removes a lot of the grunt work from producing quality espresso. The machine automates many of the steps your local barista would take in making your ritualistic brew. All you have to do with your own hands is tamp and trim.

    The intuitive touch screen allows you to select from pre-programmed beverages like a cappuccino or a latte, while also giving you the ability to create and save up to eight personalised coffees. A built-in grinder means you will only be extracting fresh coffee, and pre-infusion of your grounds ensures you get the ultimate crema. Foaming milk is made easy with the auto steam wand with adjustable temperature and texture.

    The Barista Touch is the ideal solution if you want the convenience of automation without giving up your hands altogether.
    Touch screen display

    The beverage menu contains everything from an Americano to a cappuccino. Within each beverage, you can adjust the strength, milk texture, and temperature. If you find a combination of variables that makes a lasting impression on your palate, you can give it a name and save it to the machine's interface. You can save up to eight different coffee beverages.

    Auto steam wand

    Using a manual steam wand is synonymous with hot hands. You can adjust the milk temperature and texture using the touch screen menu, while the wand purges itself of milk residue when turned downward.

    Pre-infusion

    Forget the idea that water can only dilute. This coffee machine is programmed to release small spurts of water prior to the pouring of each shot. Although subtle, this process of pre-infusion primes your ground coffee for optimum espresso extraction, resulting in a richer cup of coffee that is crowned with a full, flavoursome crema.

    Built-in grinder

    One drawback of having a grinder separate to your machine is that ground coffee can sit inside the grinder and lose its vitality prior to extraction. An integrated grinder means your coffee is extracted immediately after it is ground, preserving all the oils for a rich crema. There’s a unique grind setting to accommodate every type of roast.

    We bought this machine hope for good quality coffees. The temperature is always coolish no matter what heat setting is set. The wand never produces silky micro froth no matter what setting. Have trouble shot via video calls with the service centre (in South Africa) with no improvement. The machine has been to authorised service centre and has been worse each time. Trying to deal with anyone at Breville is impossible and just get contiuely generic email responses (written in poor English so I'm guessing they are from South Africa). Got nowhere to turn so have no alternative but to throw the machine out and purchase another brand...piece of junk and stay away from anything Breville

    This is my second Barista touch, my old one has issues every now and then, I phoned to see if I could get it repaired and I was told I could send it in for a service or I could get a new one for a special offer. I purchased a new machine, as we love the barista touch, I live in a small country town Coolgardie WA, we have no coffee cafe’s here so I have plenty of my friends and family that come to our house for their coffee fix. I am going to call Breville to get my old machine serviced.

    It's a struggle to find the right settings.
    So far, using this machine has been a struggle. I have yet to find the right combination of coffee, grind size, and brew time. The espresso often turns out too acidic or bitter, or the final yield is too small. I understand that results vary depending on the beans and the machine, but Breville could do more to help people who are new to making espresso at home. It would be helpful to provide clear, practical recommendations for grind size, extraction time, and brew settings for popular coffees commonly sold in grocery stores. Not everyone wants to buy single-origin or gourmet coffee all the time.
