Pros: Powerful, very quiet compared to old unit we had Cons: doesn’t turn on automatically when you pull it out, and you have to pull it out at least a little to turn it on (making it a two step process). Interestingly it does turn off automatically when you push it closed (after 10 minutes of very quiet low power mode) The handle/front cover is purchased separately for an extra $50. Still good value with the extra $50 but I feel this should be hightlighted at time of purchase. The handle itself is fiddlier to install than the unit itself and has a lower build quality.

A replacement for a poor Blanco rangehood which was noisy, inefficient and had broken motor mounts and blew light globes all the time. Had seen the Bosch rangehood on other web sites but with a big price tag, I even went to a retailer to actually see it and hear it in operation. I was very impressed! Appliances online had it for a good price, I rang them to ask a question and also asked if they'd "sharpen the pencil", they did, I immediately brought it. That was at about 9.30pm on a Thursday night, the rangehood was delivered the following day at about 3.30pm! I was amazed at the ease and speed of the purchase and delivery, 10 points all-round to Appliances Online! I'll defiantly be looking to purchase with you next time and also recommending to friends. As for the Bosch rangehood, I've had to rebuild the cabinet carcass to fit it, love how it just clicks into place with the spring mounting clips which also allows for easy removal if a though clean is required. My only complaint is I had to purchase a 60mm wide 150mm ø duct clamp and a self closing 150mm Metal Backdraft Shutter to stop air drafts occurring though the flue when the range hood isn't in operation. Bosch should either inbuild a Backdraft shutter into the machine or supply a kit to suit. This rangehood works beautifully, quiet and powerful with an attractive design, and only a maximum 146 watts power consumption, I highly recommend.

This rangehood exceeds expectations. Quiet, yes. Powerful, yes. Great LED lighting, yes! Easy to clean, yes! Make sure to get the pelmet to suit your kitchen.
