The Asko washer is a solid machine and does a reasonable job of washing the clothes. I chose this washer because it was one of the few washers on the market that still has a metal outer drum. My previous washer had to be thrown out when it was less than 2 years old due to a puncture in the plastic outer drum. However, there are a few things that Asko could improve. The cycles are too long and the program selection process is cumbersome and confusing. A simple dial with the programs printed on the machine face panel is much easier and quicker to use than the Asko program selection process of having to digitally scroll through apparently random programs where you don't know what the selection is going to be until it is displayed on the digital screen. This is not a user friendly setup and makes finding the program you want much more difficult than it needs to be. There should be a quick wash program for light to moderately soiled clothes that is suitable for a full load and it should be the first selection on the list. There is only one program (normal) that will take a full 8kg load of washing and it takes 3hrs and 13min to complete. All of the other shorter programs are for smaller half loads (4kg) and the quick 45 min cycle is only suitable for a quarter load (2kg).

So far, I am very happy with this washing machine. It is easy to use, runs quietly, cleans well, and helps save energy and water.

A reliable, sturdy washing machine. I average at least 3 loads of washing a day and need a machine that can actually keep up with the demand and be water efficient.
