Warranty and Customer Care Plan

All appliances sold by Appliances Online are brand new and come with a full manufacturer warranty. For full terms please see our Warranties and Limitations of Liabilities on our Trading Terms page.

Customer & Business Care Plans

If you would like to further protect your product in addition to any manufacturer's warranty that may be available, Appliances Online Pty Ltd (ABN 19 151 833 546) offers Care Plans, which covers a range of consumer electronics and appliances.

Our Care Plans are only available for purchase at the time you buy your product. If you have purchased a Care Plan for your product, we will pay for the parts, labour and service call out fees (where applicable) when your product suffers a Mechanical or Electrical Failure subject to the terms and conditions set out in our Customer Care Plan brochure and Business Care Plan brochure (Domestic & General), and Customer and Business Care Plan brochure (SquareTrade).

Our Care Plan brochures contain further details with respect to the above features. You will receive a copy of our Care Plan Brochure when you purchase our Care Plan.

A separate Customer or Business Care Plan must be purchased for each product.

If you have purchased our Care Plan for your product, the "Customer Care Code" listed in your tax invoice will specify the period of cover. Our Care Plan brochures contain important information with respect to the maximum cover period for each "Customer Care Code". Cover from our Care Plan starts at the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty for your product, which is given by the relevant manufacturer.

Please check with the manufacturer with respect to the terms of the manufacturer's warranty and the period of cover for your product that may be available. Please note that customer care plans are only available for selected appliances and consumer electronics and do not include any products such as furniture, bedding, or mattresses.

Your rights under the manufacturer's warranty and the Care Plan are in addition to (but may overlap with) any rights and remedies you may have under applicable laws including any Consumer Guarantees. The cost of the Care Plan payable by you does not include any cost for benefits which overlap with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Consumer Guarantees

If you are a "consumer" within the meaning of the Australian Consumer Law, the following notice applies to you:

Our goods come with warranties and guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or a refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Under the ACL, your rights commence from the date you purchase the Product and continue for a ‘reasonable period’ from that date. What is a ‘reasonable period’ will depend upon all of the relevant circumstances including the price of the product, the uses to which it has been put and the nature of the Product.

Repair of Products

If you return a product to us for repair (or replacement) and the product is capable of retaining user generated data, the repair (or replacement) of the product may result in the loss of the data. User generated data include files on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a media player or games saved on a games console. Please ensure you back up your data before returning a product to us for repair, as we will not be responsible for the loss of any data you may leave on the product.

Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
