Unbelievable, big, fat square waffles with a crispy exterior and fluffy soak up the butter and maple syrup centre. Used a simple milk, egg, flour, melted butter, baking powder and salt waffle batter mix I found online, took one bar off the right hand dial darkness setting and started on the classic overall setting on the left. I fired it up and used the pre-warm time to mix the batter, just a few minutes. Dosage using the included ladle was spot on, half on one side, the rest on the other. A quick silicone brush of melted butter across the hotplates out of habit. Let the timer do its thing and lifted the lid..... just perfect, the aroma in the kitchen was a mix of sweet toasted butter and warm milk. Light blonde exterior, even colour all the way across. These are plus sized waffles, none of this drink coaster frisbee nonsense, huge checkerboard pattern that holds plenty of syrup and butter. Two were plenty, perfect breakfast size. This machine is a winner, lots of waffly breakfast goodness ahead !

The controls are excellent. The only negative are the aluminum plates, steel plate make a better waffle.

This is my first serious waffle-maker and I have been really pleased with how easy it is to use, it's consistent result, the overflow channel on the device and the quick non-stick clean. So far I have made classic and buttermilk waffles and they have been absolutely perfect. I bought the Breville measuring cup, not realising that it actually comes with in. I highly recommend the Smart Waffle.
