I find the shaver takes a long time to complete a shave. I have to go over some areas repeatedly and still find random hairs remaining. I always use the Turbo mode.

Used for less than 2 weeks as on the second use the shave head became useless as the blades no longer spin at all and are incapable of shaving my beard i have cleaned followed all the instructions provided and it broke in less than 2 weeks not even going to bother replacing it might as welle go back to a manual razor worst shaver i have ever owned.

This Philips Series 5000, S5380/06 shaver, is my sixth Philishave shaver I've purchased, since 1980. Unpacking and initial power up. The shaver when unpacked, if you try to use it straight out of the box, clearly indicates that it needs to be charged, showing a red flashing low battery warning. Charged it for an hour and it was ready to use. Shaving and cleaning. Its shave is nice and close, though unlike my previous Philishave shavers, it doesn't cut as much on each pass, due to the two round-holed areas on each cutting head.This means it takes longer to get the job done. The problems other users have noted with the power on button, I also have to agree with. The power button is right where you rest your thumb when using the shaver. This fault even shows in a photo on the front of the box. The cutting heads only have a limited way they can move, and are not the full floating heads like the classic Philishaves. This makes it harder for the cutting heads to fully follow the contours and angles of a face. With its smaller cut bristles space under each head, cleaning the shaver after every shave will be a must. With my previous shavers, I could do 3 or 4 shaves before the cut bristles storage would be full. Lack of accessories. In the marketing for the shaver a number of separately purchasable SmartClick accessory heads are supposed to be available for the 5000 series including my specific model. None are actually separately available for Australia, and only one accessory head is included with all shaver packages, the SmartClick precision trimmer. There is no cleaning brush or travel case supplied with the shaver. I'm lucky in that I still have the accessories from my two previous Philishaves. The cleaning brush and travel pouch from my HQ5426, and the cleaning brush from my HQ6900. The semi hard travel case, and the SmartClean system, for the 5000 series is only available in specific bundles, and neither is available separately. Product Registration Fail The serial number on my S5380, is in an Invalid Format for the registration system. As a consequence I cannot actually register my product. Using the example photo, to see where to find the serial number, I look in the correct location, and enter the five digit serial number printed on my shaver. The registration page responds with: Serial number is not in the correct format. If you are able to register, you can then supposedly purchase an Extended Warranty. What Philips should also offer is purchasing a battery replacement plan for the not user replaceable lithium ion battery in the S5360.
