Fabric Care Instructions

Here at Appliances Online, we understand the importance of keeping our wardrobe garments clean and in order and as such, have organised some fabric care instructions for you.

The range of fabrics that can be found in our wardrobe require individual attention when being washed or cleaned. Over the stunning weekend just gone, we were able to catch up on plenty of washing. Whilst getting our clothes in order, we were confronted with a few prickly cleaning situations – ok, we had been slack and the pile in the laundry was a little out of hand! A quick scan of the web allowed us to compile this short guide of fabric care instructions that we hope will give your clothes – particularly those items of great value – the attention they deserve.

Cotton – With a tendency to absorb colours, cottons should be washed separately from other fabrics in a cold water wash cycle. Consisting of a soft, fluffy fiber, your cottons will only require a Low or Airing dryer setting. As with each load you put through your dryer, make sure you clean your dryer’s lint filter before starting the cycle.

Nylon – A thermoplastic material, nylon clothing is strong, lightweight and easy to look after. We suggest you simply keep in mind that age-old rule and separate those whites.

Wool – Only machine wash woollens that are labelled machine-washable Woolmark products and always use a quality brand wool wash. Made of a natural fibre, your woollens can be freshened by airing and should be folded when in your wardrobe to avoid being bent out of shape by a clothes hanger.

Silk – Must be treated with the care this fine fabric deserves. Drip dry in a shady place after a very soft wash. Always use the Delicates cycle when machine washing.

Suede – A quality brush will help maintain your suede garments. Rub with a soft towel to restore natural texture.

We hope you enjoyed this article of great fabric care instructions.
