Clothes Dryers Laundry

Here at Appliances Online we understand the need for a clean, organised and well-kept laundry. It’s about being space efficient and having the right tools.  Do you have a clothes dryer that needs stacking on a front load washer? Or want to mount a tumble dryer on the wall? We give you all the do’s and don’ts for fitting your laundry appliances safely, correctly and hassle free.

Everyone faces the same problem when mounting a clothes dryer on a wall upside down. Will it stay mounted? Are the dials going to flip over and are they easy to reach? Is the dryer too heavy for mounting? These are some questions you need to ask yourself when buying a dryer to suite your requirements. Even better – just contact our customer service crew on 1300 000 500 for all your answers needed.

Not all dryers can be wall mounted. In fact, if you are looking to mount one on your wall it is best to steer clear from condenser dryers. They tend to be too heavy to withstand mounting. But just to make your life easy, use our “narrow results” option on the left side of the page and search for mounted dryers. All dryers that can be mounted come with a mounting kit, so your dryer is nice and secure on the wall. All our customers who live in the metropolitan area of Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth are provided with wall mounting services from our AOL team. Otherwise, hire an expert to drill holes in the wall. The last thing you want is for your dryer to fall off the wall!

Unless your 8 feet tall, your dryer needs to be mounted upside down. So, make sure you fit the inverted control panel over the existing panel – reading the panel upside down could be tricky.

Now for all you dryer stacking lovers out there, there is not much to it! Pick up the dryer from the floor, place it on top of the front load washer and press on! But, and this is a big BUT, manufacturers recommend a stacking kit. Could you imagine, the dryer is turned on, shaking and rattling then bang! Straight on the floor! The stacking kit is to keep the dryer secure and in place. Usually it is mandatory that whatever brand your front load washer is – your stacking kit and dryer should be the same. However, if you have your heart set on different brands for both appliances purchase a non slip mat and place it in between the washer and dryer.

If you are looking at placing your tumble dryer on top of your front load washer, Appliances Online offer purchase of a stacking kit for some specific dryers. For example, this 8Kg Bosch Condenser Dryer WTF86302AU with optional stacking kit.

So folks, we hope that gives you some guidance with dryers when transforming your safe magical laundry land. Remember safety first – no one wants a dryer falling on their heads!

    Hi Karen,

I’m pretty sure that’s a Photoshopped image – pets in the laundry is very dangerous!

It’s true – cats, while adorable and photogenic, have a knack for getting into places they’re not supposed to be. For safety’s sake, make sure they stay out of the laundry room!

    hi Karen,

When mounting a dryer upside down, make sure the controls are in easy reach! And if you have a washing machine underneath the dryer, leave enough room to access it easily, especially if it’s a top-loader – you’ll need to want enough room to open the lid all the way.

For more advice, including installation info, if you purchased your dryer from Appliances Online, your best option would be to contact support@appliancesonline.com.au so somebody in our dedicated service department can help you.
