The world’s most expensive kitchen
February 28th, 2012
Are you looking for a way to get rid of large amounts of money?
We all know how pesky having too much money can be. After all, who hasn’t experienced the inconvenience of having piles of hundred dollar bills and pallets full of gold bullion cluttering up your life?
At times in life when you find yourself inconveniently rich, storage becomes an issue.
One solution is to drain your pool of water and fill it instead with wads of cash and buckets of diamonds, Scrooge McDuck style.
Another is to buy yourself a Colosseo Oro kitchen by Marazzi Design (a London-based designer):
Coming in at a modest £300,000 (approximately AU$440,000), this limited-edition kitchen is only available to the first 10 lucky millionaires.
A large chunk of the expense comes down to the appliances – a ‘mirrored steel max-fired oven hood’ (£8,000), a Zaha Hadid tap (£6,000) and a metallic gloss Sub Zero refrigerator.
Furnished with crocodile-embossed leather, Venetian ink-stained gold glass, 24 carat gold leafing and Swarovski crystal lights, what this kitchen lacks in subtlety it makes up for in glitter (literally – all surfaces have been lacquered 12 times with a glitter finish).
Says designer Paul Marazzi:
“I feel a kitchen should have a soul and presence, transforming the room into an emotional experience, a celebration of family life and convivial living, transcending the kitchen into the heart and soul of the home.”
And as we all know, nothing says ‘soul’ more than money. Lots and lots of money.
However, in the event that you don’t have a cool half mil to burn on a glittery kitchen, you can always get excellent value for money on kitchen appliances at Appliances Online. That way you can save your dollars to spend on something much more worthwhile: the world’s most expensive food! (Stay tuned…)
That kitchen is sooo cool, I love it. If I would have the money, I definitely bought it haha. It looks so retro and groovy, but still modern, just how I like it. Would be a pleasure to see this kitchen in real life.
You must be mad! As the saying goes, money can’t buy taste.
It’s awful.
The title should be How to get rids of stacks of money and tell everyone oyu have not a single smidge of taste…….. ugggggggggh.
The kitchen looks more like a Jewellery Store, not exactly the sort of environment or place, where you’d want to spend time preparing and cooking food. Seems quite limited bench area and eating space, especially given the cost.
wow wow wow
