Like invisible tape beneath an evening dress, the key to elegance is often that which can’t be seen.

A minimalist kitchen is like the little black dress of interior design – perennially chic, timeless, and tasteful.

Glossy white cabinets, stainless steel, glass, and simple lines all form the cornerstones of the minimalist kitchen aesthetic which is guaranteed to retain its style well into the future.

In keeping with this uncluttered style trend, Smeg has released a concealed undermount rangehood that delivers optimal power at minimal sound levels.

The PUM rangehood, in either 600mm or 900mm widths, can be completely concealed beneath overhead cupboards or an island bulkhead.

Crafted from satin stainless steel it comprises a 138 watt centrifugal fan with twin impellors and a double-sided air uptake that will remove up to 700 cubic metres (nett) of air an hour.  So all grease and odour-laden air will be removed from the kitchen quietly and efficiently and either ducted outside or cleaned and recirculated into the kitchen.

Powerful LED lights are positioned beside the grease filters and there are three speeds to choose from making it suitable for all styles of cooking – from slow simmers to high-heat frying.

The PUM rangehoods also have optional activated charcoal filters. Plus the five-ply aluminium grease filters that are supplied with the appliance can be washed in your Smeg dishwasher.

The PUM60X (600mm wide) and PUM90X (900mm wide) concealed undermount rangehoods from Smeg retail for $790 and $890 respectively, and are coming soon to Appliances Online.
