Queensland Floods – Appliances Online Helps Out

Like all Australians, we at Appliances Online are shocked and distressed by the Queensland floods and feel for the families who have lost homes and loved ones in this disaster.
Appliances Online has made the decision to donate to the Premier Disaster Relief Appeal.
After we listened to the strong concern of all our staff and Facebook community we decided to make a $1 donation to the Queensland Floods on behalf of each of the 51,000 existing members of our Facebook community with no strings attached.
A $51,000 charitable donation for a five-year-old company of our size is considerable and we encourage other businesses to donate what they can also. But we still want to try and give more. We feel that if we can grow our Facebook community we can afford to send our marketing dollars which would normally be spent on media to the Queensland Floods Disaster Relief Appeal instead.
This way we are hoping to add another $49,000 in funds directly to the flood appeal.
We have had a lot of great feedback from people supporting our efforts. However, despite our best intentions, I acknowledge that a few people disagree with our approach.
I can assure you that we do not mean to cause offence. Appliances Online provides donations to several charities on an ongoing basis with no exposure.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by these terrible events.
