Appliances Online expands free delivery areas

Have you ever clicked through an online purchase, excited about getting the best deal possible, only to have your heart sink when you see the cost of delivery?

While shopping online has its advantages, factors such as delivery time and cost can act as a deterrent for some customers.

Another factor many online consumers consider is their distance from the central business district in each state. And those living in rural areas often have to pay a significant amount more to get their goods delivered – or miss out completely.

Appliances Online already offers deliver to most areas in mainland Australia, but now there’s the added incentive of free delivery.

Whether you live in Lorne or Port Macquarie, if you’re having a new washing machine or kettle delivered, you will now receive your goods for free as long as it arrives on the back of one of our iconic trucks.

According to Appliances Online general manager Peter Harris, the move to offer free delivery is in line with the overall customer experience Appliances Online is looking to achieve.

“We are always striving to be better at Appliances Online. Expanding our free delivery service is just one of many initiatives we are currently working on to give customers the best shopping experience in Australia,” he said.

“We want all Australians to experience our award winning service and that is why we are expanding our free delivery footprint.”

Mr Harris explained that Appliances Online plans to build three additional warehouses before the end of the year, as well as further expansion in 2013.

“We are determined to deliver our fantastic service to as many people as often as possible,” he added.

All the way from the land of the flightless bird, Krissy brings a part of New Zealand culture to the Appliances Online content team. And although she is adamant she does not say 'fush and chups', she can't deny her continuous use of the term 'sweet as' and her ongoing argument with her team on the correct name for jandals (thongs). One thing is for certain, however, her passion for her kiwi slang is matched with her love for sharing news, hacks and buying tips for all things appliances! Krissy's favourite appliance is the Tefal Cook4Me multi cooker, as she believes it's ok to let an appliance do all the work for you.
