Less is more as Bosch hails 6 litre ActiveWater Eco dishwasher
May 7th, 2012
A dishwasher that only uses six litres of water has been hailed as a “main innovation” from German manufacturer Bosch.
The ActiveWater Eco can clean up to 13 place settings in one cycle, and features the lowest water consumption figures on the market.
Showcased at Milan’s EuroCucina last month, the latest design uses intelligent technology to save up to 20,700 litres of water annually compared to hand-washing.
Bosch engineers claim the new high-tech model gets the most out of every drop of water. The special spray system, the effective motor, and the water management system combined with the clever arrangement of dishes ensure a perfect clean every time.
The machine has an innovative water tank which stores the final rinse water of the last cycle to use at the pre-rinse in the next washing cycle.
Bosch claims the design is a signal of their commitment to producing efficient appliances and shows a vast improvement in technology since 1975, when the average water usage was 60 litres.
Speaking to Appliances Online in Milan, Christian Holfelder, product marketing at Bosch, said: “It’s one of our main targets to have a water efficient dishwasher only using six litres, so it’s a very important feature and our main innovation on the Bosch booth.”
