Sustainability Victoria – ResourceSmart Appliance Incentive

Sustainability Victoria, on behalf of the Victorian Government, is excited to announce the “ResourceSmart” Appliance Incentive.
This initiative will provide Victorians, through participating retailers, with a $100 discount for purchasing energy and water efficient washing machines and dishwashers as well as energy efficient refrigerators.
The Sustainability Victoria washing machine and dishwasher campaign will run from Friday the 5th of June 2009 to Sunday the 28th of June 2009 (3 weeks) and coincides with World Environment Day on Friday the 5th of June 2009. Washing machines that qualify for the discount have at least a 3.5 star energy rating and a 4 star water rating. Dishwashers that qualify for the discount have at least a 3.5 star energy rating and a 3.5 star water rating.
The refrigerator campaign will run from Friday the 7th of August to Sunday the 30th of August 2009. Refrigerators that qualify for the discount are at least 4 star energy rated.
The campaign aims to encourage Victorians to purchase energy and water efficient appliances, which is the key aim of the “ResourceSmart” Retail Program also.
Consumers will receive the discount by completing and submitting an Application Form with the relevant receipt and sending both to Sustainability Victoria.
Advertising of the initiative will occur on metropolitan radio and in local and regional print media leading up to incentive’s commencement.
