The 2008/2009 sailing year is coming to an end and what a year it was for the Appliances Online sailing Team!

We had two boats competing in the “Moth” world championships. The regatta was sailed in Weymouth, England. This is the same water the 2012 Olympics will take place. Scott Babbage sailing “Appliances Online” had a solid regatta finishing 4th in the world class field. John Harris a member of the Appliances Online Team sailing “Sailingbits.com” was crowned World Champion. John showed the world class field how to sail in the extra windy conditions and was crowned world champion with one race still to be sailed. This was a fantastic effort from our team in this highly competitive exciting class of boat.

The Appliances Online “Pirate Ship” finished 5th in the 18 foot skiff world championships sailed on Sydney Harbour. 18 foot skiffs are the “Formula One” of world sailing and to finish in the top 5 is a magnificent effort. The boys won two races in the 7 race series. Appliances Online was the only boat to win more than one race. The racing was the closest in 18 foot skiff history with 6 boats able to win the championship right up the last leg of the 7th race.

The Appliances online team will be competing in both the Moth and the 18 foot skiff in major regattas in Europe and the US later on this year. Stay tuned for more updates from these regattas and good luck to the crews.
