We’re sure you’ve all been eagerly following the amazing progress of the Appliances Online park cricket warriors.

Well, good news, we can now unveil the result of last week’s Facebook call-out for team name suggestions!

The winner is Danielle Corcoran – who suggested “The Spin Cycles”. Congratulations Danielle – you’ve sealed your place in cricketing folklore.

Danielle was the standout amongst a wealth of amazing suggestions, which ran the gamut from the profound to the profane.

Honourable mentions must go to Matt Cody for “Quick Deliveries”, Michael Roberts for “The White Washers” and Gregory Kerr for “Online and Length”.

Thanks guys. Your names inspired us yesterday to greater things.

Match Report

Unfortunately, we can’t specify exactly what the result was. What happens on the field, stays on the field. Especially when that involves being slaughtered by over 150 runs. Which may or may not have happened.

There were, however, some stand-out performances. Chris White and Kevin Bradford continued to impress with their pace and swing. Morris Bryant and Tom Hodgson (on debut) also bowled extremely well against a strong middle order. Meanwhile, with the bat, Nick Chernin and David Rosenthal blazed away

The relatively poor performance can be easily ascribed to the poor turn-out of AOL supporters. We encourage anyone who has an afternoon spare to come along and cheer them on next week.

Each supporter that attends the game, will receive a FREE official “Spin-Cycles” cricket box (signed by all eight members of the cricket team). This lovingly hand-crafted piece of Aussie-cricket memorabilia will look great above the mantelpiece or make a special gift to a loved-one this Valentine’s Day.
