Legend Blimp goes pink for Breast Cancer awareness
October 2nd, 2015
Appliances Online’s own Legend Blimp has returned to Melbourne – notice anything different about it?
No, the blimp isn’t blushing. And we didn’t put it through the wash along with a red t-shirt, either.
Instead, we’ve turned the Legend Blimp pink in honour of Cancer Council Australia’s Pink Ribbon Day, which aims to help women diagnosed with breast and gynaecological cancers.

The Legend Blimp isn’t turning pink for just a single day, either – we’ll be keeping it pink for the entire month of October.
According to Cancer Council, an estimated 18,700 women will be diagnosed with a breast or gynaecological cancer this year. Cancer Council aims to raise $7.2 million through Pink Ribbon Day, Girls’ Night In and Pink Ribbon fundraisers this year, to provide research, prevention and support programs for women’s cancers.

So if you look up to the Melbourne skyline this October and see a pink blimp soaring majestically over the city, be sure to snap a photo and share your sighting to help spread the word and raise awareness of Pink Ribbon Day.
Here are a few more great ways to get involved:
- Host a Girls’ Night In
- Host a Pink Ribbon Fundraiser
- Buy Pink Ribbon merchandise – including pins and pens from selected outlets.
- Volunteer
- Order a merchandise box
- Donate
