While appliance brand Sharp has plenty to offer TV and AV fans, those looking to update their kitchen haven’t missed out either.

Sharp announced four new fridge models – as well as 10 new microwave ovens – at the 2012 IFA tradeshow in Berlin last week, focusing on the latest styles and innovative design.

The brand has added three new multi-door models to its range – the top of the line SJ-FS810V, the SJ-FP810V and the SJ-FP760V – as well as the two-door SJ-GC700V.

The fridges boast ultra large compartments, LED interior lighting, ice-making tank and the option of either a stainless steel, black metal or chic glass facade.

Other features include a touch-sensitive control panel, no frost technology and an ion generator to help restrict the growth of bacteria and keep your fridge more hygienic.

Along with the range of fridges, Sharp has celebrated 50 years of microwaves – as well as the brand’s 100th anniversary – by offering customers a unique line-up of solo microwave ovens, steam ovens, grills and convection models.

In addition to 20 and 40-litre microwave ovens, Sharp has added 25 and 28-litre models to the range and now covers a wider range of price points.

“The extended range of microwave ovens represents the desire of the company to offer models that suit all environments,” Sharp stated (August 29).

“Sharp is reinforcing its strong commitment to the market – from solo microwave ovens to steam ovens and from grills to the most complete convection models, offering a huge range of sizes, functions and accessories.”

The hero product – the 40-litre R-97ST convection microwave oven – also features Sharp’s new Inverter technology for more efficient and precise defrosting of food, lower energy consumption and two times less noise than previous models.
