June 8th, 2015
At Appliances Online, we love offering a huge range of brand new products for customers to play with in their home.
But even with the upmost care and attention, appliances can fall foul of general wear and tear over the years.
No matter the price range, every product has finite usage, especially if you want to maintain the best working energy efficiency and functionality.
There are obviously those items which out-last their expected lifetime, like Grandma’s ancient oven, or the third generation hand-me-down vacuum.
But to give you an idea of the average lifespan of common household appliance, US brand Choice Home Warranty compiled this funky looking infographic.
Interestingly, according to their research, a robo-vac may last you around two years, while your carpet is likely to last you ten years, on average.
Major white good such as a dryer, refrigerator and washing machine should last you on average 13 years, while a gas fireplace will give you on average 25 years of warmth.
