Maggie Beer, John Torode, Rick Stein, George Calombaris, and Manu Feildel…the menu is set.

What about the chance to win dinner and paired wines for four on the Thursday prior to the Good Food & Wine Show…is the apetite whet?

The Fisher & Paykel ‘Dine with a Chef’ competition will offer the winner and their three friends a meeting with a celeb chef plus a night’s accommodation at a city hotel, VIP passes to the Good Food & Wine Show and front row seats to one of Fisher and Paykel’s Celebrity Theatre sessions.

What is the Good Food & Wine Show? It is where foodies and wine buffs meet to celebrate all things gastronomic, to indulge, discuss and learn. This year Fisher & Paykel appliances will be showcased with a new stand and put to the test under the rigours of the top chefs as they they whip, wine and dine audiences in the five capital cities.

“As an event, the Good Food & Wine Show is to foodies what The Voice is to television viewers. So we didn’t hesitate to hit the red buzzer and spin the chair for a second time round on this one,” said Fisher & Paykel general manager of marketing, Peter Russell.

“This is about putting our cooking and cooling range of products under the noses of people who really care about these things.”

The purpose-built Fisher & Paykel kitchen will feature a 90cm pyrolytic oven, gas cooktops, CoolDrawers, French Door Fridge as well as the new Steam Oven & Built in Coffee maker. The new range of premium DCS Outdoor Grills set for release later this year will also be highlighted.

“The Celebrity Theatre is very much about creating dinner and a show. These chefs are at the top of their game and really know how to entertain and there’s always lot of laughs and audience interaction,” Russell said.

The Good Food & Wine Show opens in Melbourne June 1 – 3; Sydney June 22 – 24; Perth July 13 – 15; Adelaide October 12 – 14 and Brisbane November 9 -11.

Having once had to sit on the washing machine to stop it from bouncing into oblivion, Keri is today delighted with the new (smoother running) technologies that make housework easier every day. A self-confessed lazy-bones, Keri seeks out quirky inventions that ease the human workload, such as the robotic vacuum cleaner (wow). And as soon as someone figures out a Jetsons-like self-cleaning house, she will happily lay her pen to rest and retire from appliance journalism. Until then, her pick is a fridge that will tell her smartphone when it's time to pick up more beer on the way home. Magic.
