Where to store your ingredients for maximum freshness

Organisation is essential in any kitchen. The mark of a great home chef is knowing exactly what ingredients are stored where, so they can be used to whip up a recipe at a moment’s notice. Plus, by correctly storing different ingredients in the pantry or fridge, you can ensure that they’ll remain fresher for longer, saving you from having to toss out spoiled and wasted food.

Making a plan for organising your kitchen ingredients may sound like a daunting task, involving a lot of hard work. That’s because it is, and it does.Fortunately, the aces over at Fix.com have made the effort for us, and even assembled the following infographics to help us keep our kitchens fully stocked and running efficiently.

Regarding the infographic’s optimal pantry temperature of 70 degrees Farenheit or below – this translates to approximately 21 degrees Celsius. Not an easy temperature to maintain during an Aussie summer, especially if your home lacks air conditioning, but still a good goal to aim for if possible.
