Stan Shuetrium founded St George Appliances in his backyard in Bexley, Sydney in 1947. A welder by trade, Stan hit upon the idea of manufacturing and selling ovens to create employment opportunities for members of his family.
Together with his brother Bob, they applied their trade selling ovens from the back of their truck in the streets of the Sutherland Shire of Sydney.
Over the years the factory grew from strength to strength, pumping out hundreds of ovens per day, with a national distribution of retailers.
With a heritage stretching back more than 60 years, St George has enjoyed a well earned reputation for making ovens, cooktops and rangehoods that Australians love and as an Australian Design Award Winner, St George Appliances have always been recognised as leaders in quality and innovation.

600mm/60cm St George Electric Wall Oven 4516050 Great service and kept me up to date on the status of my order via telephone. I have used Appliances Online on a number of ocassions for my business with excellent service, but this time a bit disappointed with delivery, it was over two hours late and while I understand that stoves cannot be installed, mine was just a plug in model which meant that it could have just been placed in the hole and switched on. As I was understanding of the delay in delivery I think my request of "installing" could have been managed in good faith (an extra few minutes ) but was told definately that this could not be done. Maybe also inform customers that you will need to check id ( my mobility was impaired so I could have had this ready prior to the delivery). Thank you for the cook book. Gaye
