Replacement for existing unit which broke after only 3 years. We hope this unit lasts longer.
Unit would be better energy rating if had a timer on it to turn it off overnight. Vicki

Unfortunately the product was the only one that I could fit into the existing cavity in the kitchen sink cupboard, otherwise I would not have chosen it again especially after its previous poor performance. A two or three year warranty would have been appropriate or at least a better quality product by design to provide the customer with a better product life. Warren

A Good Question as I own one of these myself. I can tell you that I have not seen any great increase in my power bills. This machine when in use is like a thermos, once heated up it maintains temperature until you use it. Recovery rate is 1 cup in 30 seconds.
A You can install this item into a granite bench but please be aware of the following details that I have located from Insinkerators product installation guide. If you intend to use the sprayer hole in your sink for your dispenser, you may need a basin wrench and a 1/8" plug or a 1/4" cap (not supplied) for the faucet spray hose line.. If you need to cut a mounting hole in your stainless steel sink, you may need a 11/4" - 11/2" hole saw made for cutting stainless steel or a hole punch. For a granite bench please consult a professional stone cutter. For any additional enquiries you may have about installation please feel free to you can view the product manual.
