Dyson Appliances Company Background
Dyson Ltd. was established in 1979 by James Dyson, a visionary in vacuums. His journey began when he grew frustrated that his new Hoover vacuum cleaner clogged constantly and dwindled in suction power even after emptying the cleaner bag. He decided that there must be a better way. James Dyson thought he could design a bag-less vacuum (the Dyson vacuum cleaner) that not only removed and kept dust and powder particles from spreading but maintained its suction power until you emptied the chamber. During a trip to a local sawmill, Dyson noticed how the sawdust was removed from the air by way of a cyclonic separator which was 30 feet high. It was this cyclone principle that he adapted on a smaller scale for his vacuum cleaner. After retrofitting his Hoover machine with a crude cardboard adapter, he noticed that it worked better and picked up even the hardiest of messes. Thus was the birth of the first bag-less vacuum cleaner. Using cyclonic separation to remove dust and other particles from the air stream, Dyson vacuum cleaners revolutionised how vacuums should work. Six years and over 1000 prototypes later, the first ever Dual Cyclone Dyson vacuum cleaner - The Dyson G-Force - was released. The Dual Cyclone system was the biggest innovative breakthrough in the industry since the vacuum was established in 1901. The Dyson Dual Cyclone system replaces the traditional bag of a vacuum with two cyclone cylinders, one to keep the dust and dirt particles and the other to pick up the minute particles. Dirty air enters a conical container called a cyclone, where it is made to flow in a tight spiral. Centrifugal force throws the particles out of the airflow onto the wall of the container, from which they can fall into a bin. Centrifugal forces reach 100,000 G inside the machine, hence the name "Dyson G-Force". The first production models were first sold in Japan for the equivalent of 2,000 pounds sterling. In 1991 the Dyson vacuum cleaner won the International Design Fair prize in Japan and became a national sensation. James Dyson received income from the Japanese successes and decided to manufacture a new model of Dyson vacuum cleaner under his own name in England. The DC01 was the first vacuum to give constant suction at a great price, just 200 pounds sterling. This Dyson Dual Cyclone system resulted in Dyson possessing the fastest selling vacuum cleaner ever to be made in the United Kingdom. Today, Appliances Online is proud to offer an extensive collection of the breakthrough products that put Dyson on the map. Dyson is a company that is continually looking to better itself. Its aim is to lead and innovate rather than follow and imitate and it is internationally renowned as being a world leader in vacuum cleaner technology. Since the first models of Dyson vacuum cleaners, upgrades and advancements have resulted in a range of vacuum models to suit every household. Appliances Online brings you the Dyson barrel vacuum cleaners, Dyson handheld vacuums, the famous Dyson upright vacuums and a selection of vacuum accessories. If you're sick of your vacuum clogging, losing power, not cleaning properly and continually having to empty the bag, try one today. You'll never look back. Appliances Online also features the Dyson fan, otherwise known as the Dyson Air Multiplier. This most unusual fan is completely blade-less, making it the safest fan to use around children and pets. The same technology used in turbochargers and jet engines power this unique cooling appliance. The air is drawn into and out of the contraption by way of an annular aperture over an air-foil shaped ramp which aims its direction. The Dyson fan rapidly accelerates the air by fifteen times, providing a cool breeze or a steady wind to anyone on the other side. Appliances Online brings you these safe and technologically advanced fans at the guaranteed lowest price. You will never look at a fan the same way again!

Dyson's are an acquired taste. If you
love design and powerful cleaning, this is for you. There
are a few tricks that their image only instruction guide
(not text) doesn't fully explain. And you will miss a
retractable cord if you've had one. On balance, a
funky, powerful cleaner and watching how much dirt you get
off your floors as the see through waste cannister fills is fun! stephen

Latest Questions Q I have never had a bagless vac before and was wondering which is the best Dyson model re. quality and efficiency?
Question for:
Dyson Barrel Vacuum Cleaner DC22TURBINE
Asked by
Kerrie
(5/07/2011 11:29:45 AM)
A Firstly, you need to choose a vacuum for the size of your house. The DC26 is for a small 1 bedroom/studio apartment. The DC22 is for a small 2 bedroom apartment (this is a good one). If you try and use them for a larger home you will be continually emptying them. If you have a 3-5 bedroom home you will need a DC29 or DC23. The DC29 is Dyson's entry-level vacuum. If you have a big house with lots of carpet then the DC23 Motorhead would be great.
The next thing to consider is the type of floors/pets/etc that you have. Have a look at the Dyson website for some ideas: there are Animal Vacs and Allergy Vacs; Multi Floor Vacs; Turbine Head and Motor Head Vacs.

Question for:
Dyson Upright Vacuum Cleaner DC24HEPA
Asked by
Elaine

A Thank you for your enquiry, Dyson advertise the DC24 as their lightest upright machine and would be the best suited for taking up stairs. The accessory that comes with the machine is the Combination Accessory Tool which may be a little too narrow to cover a large couch area. They do have a Matress Tool that you can purchase seperately through Dyson - it may be more effective for a larger couch
