Our barbeque is under cover on a deck but I decided to get a cover for it and at the time thought it a bit expensive as I had seen much cheaper in the shops. My only real disappointment with this BBQ is that Beefeater have now moved their manufacturing to China, and while there's not a huge quality difference from their older Australian-made models, there is a noticeable cheapness about it that I wouldn't expect from a nearly $1000 piece of kit. I'm also disappointed to see that as another cost-cutting measure they have included two open grills and only one solid hotplate, whereas once upon a time their 5-burner models came with two of each, allowing you to mix and match the plates depending on your needs.
The BBQ took me the better part of 6 hours to assemble on my own and the instructions were adequate, but probably assumed that the user has a fair bit of mechanical intuition thus relying on very basic images rather than explicit written directions. I guess Beefeater have taken the opinion that "real men don't use instructions".
The BBQ cooks really well: the solid plate distributes the heat nicely and the heat diffusers under the open grills are surprisingly effective and a huge improvement over the older models. A warning label on the BBQ says you can only have two burners on high while the hood is closed, however it took close to 30 minutes for my BBQ to preheat up to 180 degrees with only two burners on high and every time you open the lid to put food in or turn it you lose about 20 degrees. Having said that, I don't roast food much on a hooded BBQ (that's what charcoal kettle BBQs are for) but I do use the hood to keep food warm after cooking in case anyone wants seconds and for this purpose the hood works very well.

Price is competitive. Delivery was a little slow and had to wait 3 weeks and when it arrived the gas conversion kit was the wrong one for the BeefEater model so I had to wait another 10 days to get the revised brass injector sizes for the model. That was a major negative. Having said that the team I contacted were reliable - owned the problem, understood the issue and addressed it as committed so they are a credit to the Appliances On Line offering.
