We all know how annoying it is having finger prints, smudges and other oily marks impairing the TV Screen while you’re watching your favourite show.

Our advice to avoid unwanted grimy distractions – TV screens should be cleaned on a regular basis for the best viewing experience.

You should also try to keep them dust free, as dust can block up air vents causing the television to over-heat. This can cause major damage to the internal hardware, and getting it repaired can be expensive as dust is not covered under manufactures’ or extended warranties.

It’s recommend you clean your TV once a month to ensure it remains in good working condition.

Before you apply anything to the TV, make sure it is turned off at the main power point to avoid any risk of electrocution while wiping away.

The industry recommends the best kind of cleaning cloth is a Microfibre one, due to the fact they’re super soft.

Using the correct material will help prevent causing any unwanted scratches on your LED LCD screen.

It’s also very important you use a liquid that will not destroy the anti-glare film that is applied to the majority of TVs these days.

At Appliances Online, we have a few simple but effective solutions to help you keep your screens clean, whether it’s a TV, smart phone, tablet or desktop computer.

Solution 1 – MicroFibre Cloth on its own:

Grab your microfibre cloth, place it on the screen and start to apply light pressure.

Move in a circular motion to remove smudges and marks. If that does not work try the next solution…

Solution 2 – MicroFibre Cloth, distilled white vinegar and water:

You will need to make a solution of half distilled white vinegar and half water. Dip your microfiber cloth into the mixture making sure not to soak the cloth, just make it damp.

Apply the damp cloth to the screen and apply light pressure, again moving in a circular motion.

It is not recommended you spray the mixture directly onto the screen as this could cause drops to run down the screen and into the frame, potentially causing permanent damage to the picture.

Solution 3 – Screen cleaner and microfiber cloth:

Another option is to purchase a screen cleaner cloth combo, such as this one from Crest.

All you have to do is spray the screen with 4-6 squirts of the solution, then grab your cloth and wipe it down while applying little bit of pressure.

It shouldn’t take too much effort to remove all the stains and marks, leaving the screen streak free and ready to display a perfectly clear picture.

Just to be on the safe side, we recommend you check the user manual before undertaking any maintenance of your entertainment device.
