Coming soon to Appliances Online A/V – in time for Christmas!
November 13th, 2013
Here’s a few choice words about a few choice products that are COMING SOON to the fabulous land of Appliances Online Audio Visual. These exciting products are set to arrive on the website just in time for the 25th December.
First up, presenting the Sony HT-ST3 4.1 Channel Sound Bar. Currently being touted at “the world’s slimmest Bluetooth sound bar” (which makes it sound positively anorexic), it’s an elegant piece of sound equipment which doesn’t skimp on the grunt … 250W worth of it, actually.
Sound Bars are an efficient and compact way to enhance the sound of your flat-panel TVs. That’s good news, ‘cos in many cases TV audio quality has been compromised a little as they’ve become more slim-lined.
This one is able to be wall-hung or slipped on a shelf in front of your TV. It’ll let you crank up the sound on your favourite movies in spectacular style. Sony’s S-Master Digital Amplifier offers the rich, realistic noise you’ll love, while the S-Force Pro Front Surround processing provides an expansive soundfield. There’s also a dedicated wired subwoofer to ensure earth-shattering bass.
As Sony says so poetically, “thrill to every car chase, every orchestral crescendo and every word of dialogue!” Okay, that hyperbole makes it sound like it’ll bring on a force-10 multiple-orgasm – but the truth is, this is a compact and affordable way to up the ante on your home entertainment.
Plus all this sonic goodness comes with the added benefit of Bluetooth connectivity, my friend, giving you the option of wirelessly streaming music from your smartphone.
4K News
In other news, there’s also a product which represents another development in the 4K phenomenon: the LG 55LA9650 series. This one is notable for being considerably cheaper than its 4K predecessors, currently rocking an RRP of $3999 (we expect it to be something lower when it is actually makes its way onto the website).
If you are gagging to climb on the 4K bandwagon but had always balked at the price tag of the ticket, this might your time to get your wallet out.
For those not aware of this hip new kid on the home entertainment block, 4K is four times the resolution of Full High Definition (which as the name suggests, was previously thought to be king of the hill). Which adds up to a significantly sharper picture – one that more than a few people are getting very excited about.
That said, the 55LA is still considerably more expensive than many of the other premium Full High Definition TVs out there. And there have been some arguments that with a screen of this size, it will be difficult to discern the “4K difference” in image quality without sitting very close to the screen.
Still, it’s another sign than 4K is on it’s way to becoming a main-stream product.
Tivoli
Lastly, we’re looking forward to welcoming into the fold the premium Tivoli brand: pervayors of some of the finest audio products around. Their line-up includes stuff like AM/FM radios, DAB+ digital radios, CD Players and headphones.
If we had a Christmas wishlist, we’d opt for something like the Model 10+ FM/DAB+ Digital Radio – which is able to crank out the sound from an amazingly compact and stylish little unit. Not only does it look great – it’s also a great way to tap into the Digital Radio phenomenon (oh, and there is an auxiliary input for a CD Player, iPhone/iPod or MP3 player).
We also dig the retro-infused elegance and bold colours of the Tivoli Audio Song Book Travel Radio. It’s a high-fidelity, light-weight AM/FM alarm clock radio in a sleek, funky, weather-resistant shell – the kind of thing that can as easily take pride of place on your bedside table as accompany you to the beach.
On the grander side of things, check out the Tivoli Music System+ CD/FM/DAB+ System. A powerful, compact, all-in-one stereo system, it’s packed with features and can basically fulfill any audio requirement you care to think of. A music device able to play CDs, MP3 and WMA files, it’s also a alarm-clock radio that receives AM/FM and digital broadcasts. Meanwhile, with Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly stream from your digital music library housed in your smart device.
And there’s plenty more where that came from. Stay tuned for more audio-visual news!
