What do a bagless vacuum cleaner company, an Italian brand which has made a name for itself through automatic coffee machines and an Australian appliance icon have in common?

They’ve all been voted among the best brands in Australia by consumer review website ProductReview.com.au.

According to more than 65,000 reviews posted this year on the website, Dyson was ranked as the third most trusted brand in Australia, followed closely by fellow appliance manufacturers De’Longhi and Breville.

Dyson scored an average of 3.95 stars out of five from consumers, while De’Longhi and Breville ended up with 3.89 and 3.68 stars respectively.

Appliances Online product expert Colin Jones believes that Dyson’s patented bagless technology is what sets them apart in the Australian market.

“I have a Dyson at home, and the first I ran it over carpet that had previously been cleaned by a ducted vacuum system, one-quarter of the barrel was filled with dust,” he said.

“The cyclonic system that Dyson has developed separates the large and small particles, and the quick release button means that it’s easy to empty the barrel when full. It can even be washed out if need be!”

In the past year, 98 per cent of Appliances Online customers have also given Dyson positive product feedback, making it one of the most popular brands on our website.

As for the other big appliance names in the top five, ProductReview.com.au marketing manager Samuel Williamson explained that Australians look for brands they can trust when it comes to big ticket items such as coffee machines.

“De’Longhi’s popular Nespresso range impressed reviewers with its simple operations and affordable pricing. Breville also saw great reviews for its coffee machine range, especially in its high-end bracket where models like the Dual Boiler rated very highly.”
