One of the world’s most recognisable chefs – and a personal favourite among the Appliances Online team – has become the global ambassador of a local appliance brand.

Heston Blumenthal has teamed up with Breville to help promote the iconic Australian brand’s products across all of Breville’s international markets, as well as locally.

According to Breville Group chief executive officer Jack Lord, Blumenthal will be more than just an ambassador – the collaboration will see the chef working closely with the Breville product development team, from conception to testing and recipe development.

“Heston is one of the most exciting and creative chefs in the world. Renowned for his award-winning, delicious tasting dishes it’s Heston’s unique approach to cooking and the science behind the process that makes this such a perfect match,” he explained.

“When we design a new Breville product, our focus is on understanding the challenges around food as deeply as possible and then pushing the creative boundaries to solve those challenges in simpler and smarter ways. I can’t think of a better person to help us do this than Heston Blumenthal.”

Blumenthal believes that he know has an opportunity to work with world leaders and create even more useful products for chefs and home cooks alike.

“We’ve already put dozens of Breville products through their paces, a punishing task for any piece of kit with a bunch of chefs, and the level of thought and ingenuity in the design is matched by resilience,” he added.

Of course this isn’t the first time that Heston has played around with Breville’s products.

In his TV serious Heston’s Feasts, the renowned chef tackled one of the most iconic dishes of the 1980s – the toasted sandwich.

He constructed his own giant toastie machine by screwing and welding Breville sandwich makers (a bit like this one) together, and then proceeded to use his genius cooking skills to combine the best ingredients to create the ultimate toasted sandwich.

Time will only tell what Heston and the Breville team come up with next!

All the way from the land of the flightless bird, Krissy brings a part of New Zealand culture to the Appliances Online content team. And although she is adamant she does not say 'fush and chups', she can't deny her continuous use of the term 'sweet as' and her ongoing argument with her team on the correct name for jandals (thongs). One thing is for certain, however, her passion for her kiwi slang is matched with her love for sharing news, hacks and buying tips for all things appliances! Krissy's favourite appliance is the Tefal Cook4Me multi cooker, as she believes it's ok to let an appliance do all the work for you.
